I am kinda a new youtuber and I would love it if people would watch my videos. If you don’t want to I completely think that’s fine and I don’t mind at all. And I know messages like this are annoying but please give the two videos below a chance. Thank you and have a nice day.

Hi! I've seen you on /ic/.
I have the exact same situation. Only one year is a tough deadline.

I looked through your stuff and I see some nice progress.
I think what really shows is that you do value and then color (am I right?), but not in a good way. It lacks some color variation here and there. Also, backgrounds on some of your works have the same or similar level of saturation as characters. It makes it look a bit flat.
I noticed you really like the color channel shift trick. ;)
Hey Bro thanks for taking the time to comment, Yeah it's true I work mostly in values and then colour later. I think the reason is that I don't normally have a plan when I start a painting so I usually end up sketching silhouettes in black and white and I just find it quicker to get ides down just in values and then before I know it I've rendered out the whole thing like that and have to work in the colour afterwards. :P I'm trying to work on my colour as I know it's absolutely not my strong point. Thanks for pointing out the saturation thing though that was actually really helpful sometimes it's hard to notice obvious mistakes in your own work. and yeah I'm guilty of hurr durr chromatic aberrations! although I use the lens correction filter to do it instead of shifting the channels ;) definitely need to stop doing that though, I swear it's just a phase! ha ha.
I remember seeing your dragon/triceratops painting on /ic/ the finished one looks great btw.
ha ha ha you've got a great way of giving advice. Yeah I agree with you I think the most important thing is to work smart as I'm just discovering. It's not enough to just mindlessly do a study as you can essentially just switch off for a few hours and work on auto pilot and come out not really having learned anything. I think the knowledge you gain from a study needs to be applied the same day to make it really sink in. I know I can do a lot better and I'm pretty disappointed that it has taken me this long to start getting serious. But we can only look forward! I had a look at your gallery the only section I could see was your "old crap" folder, but the style revamp piece seems pretty solid. One thing I would say is to get to grips with two brushes, the hard round and the soft round. It's really important to know when to use both. It looks like you are using soft brushes too much which tends to give the work a blurry look. Soft brushes are great for subtle variations in tone but you want to be using a hard brush for a lot of the rendering process. I suppose it depends on what look you are going for though. Good luck to you as well and practice practice practice!
Sorry about the previous tl;dr posts, had a bad case of tired and fucking stupid but whatever, anyways...

Overall you genuinely seem to be grasping things well and am very impressed with what you have thus far. You know how to use coloring nicely compared to many other up'n'comings. Anatomy for the most part looks sound, nothing glaringly awful. You seem to have a decent grasp on lighting and can play with it well enough.

All I can say is refine what you know and practice on what you don't. Though I cannot bring myself to say you suck, I can say that you could do a lot better given that you aren't a total beginner at this.

Best of luck mate. I'll be watching/ practicing along side with you.
Yo! Saw the thread n shit. All I can offer you aside from this rant are some words of support and a reminder that you are not alone. (Means I wanna be a concept artist too, keep up chucklenuts.)

Work hard/smart cuz I mean why the fuck would you aimlessly jizz your graphite; No.2 pencil lead, brush tool paint, whatever all over that sexy white skinned canvas? You won't becuz it's stupid and let me tell ya something pal, you won't impress many ladies by misfiring all over the god damn place and hitting someone in the eye with UGLY!.( Actually I thing your work is awesome but that's not the point here...)

2bcont...
(Cunt.)

Keep it structured, seek your weakpoints, hone those tender spots so you don't prematurely make a mess.

And don't go doing the same ol' routine either cuz it's boring. Everyone needs variety. You, me, my ex's blackeye which could use a bit of blue and red... and some white (The moment I found out my faphand was also a sandwich making hand, bitch had to go and also rape fetish)...

Mix up your routine, be flexible with your style, ready to do anything and everything. Bitches look for a man flexible who can all dem positions and styles. I look for a man who can all dem positions n styles. I am also a bitches.

Oh and feel free to check out my gallery and take solace over the fact you're further than I am. Also srry if I made this all tl;dr-ish but cocks.
